The rise of AI and its implications for humanity urgently needs discussing, and this Black Mirror unit aims to do just that. Through the work of Charlie Brooker, students explore mise en scene, sound, and dialogue while discussing a range of Global Issues related to technology. Once students have the skills to successfully deconstruct the episode Nosedive, we guide them through a creative group project exploring the episodes Arkangel, Be Right Back, and Joan is Awful. This complete teaching unit includes the following:
